Snowbird foods has unveiled a series of carefully tested quick and easy light meal suggestions which will enable caterers to speed up service and add profitable variety to the menus whilst using basic ingredients.

Titled Quick and Easy Light Bites, all the new ideas feature the company’s fully cooked and frozen sausages which have won eleven awards in the last three years and all the recipes have a cooking time of ten minutes or less.

“Sausages are a hugely popular breakfast item but later in the day they feature in sausage and mash (a top ten catering dish) plus a traditional fry up and very little else,” said Joint Managing Director, Philip Paul.

“Quick and Easy Light Bites will help caterers speed up service and add profitable variety to their menus whilst using readily available every day ingredients,” he added.

Our sausages will microwave from frozen in seconds so caterers will be able to turn orders into meals in minutes and that will make a huge difference, particularly where fast turn-round lunch service is concerned.

The new initiative has been welcomed by Tony Goodger, foodservice trade sector manager at BPEX (the British Pig Executive).

“This is a welcome new service from one of the leading UK suppliers of fully cooked and frozen sausages which is going to deliver speed and convenience for caterers, enabling them to generate a welcome further expansion of the market for sausages,” he said.

Snowbird is encouraging caterers to submit their own ideas for Quick and Easy Light Bites which can be cooked in ten minutes or less.

The best ideas will be tested, photographed, credited and published on the web site and the authors will be rewarded with gifts of sausages.
