Yates's was the first brewery group to fall for the charms of Snowbird foods' new Gourmet Plus range of sausages and according to the team at the lodge in English Street, Carlisle, it's a winner all the way.
Yates replaced a standard frozen sausage with 60g Lincolnshire links with a stunning 84% meat content and since the Spring menu change sausage sales have soared.
The sausages are pressed into service in three different dishes: Bangers & Mash (three links), All Day Breakfast (two) and a light-bite Sausage & Onion Rustic Baguette.
Snowbird's biggest fan in Carlisle is Mrs. Maggie Hunter, who has been chef at the lodge for nearly eleven years.
"I love them," she said. "They're so easy to re-heat from frozen and they're a much higher standard.
"Sales have definitely gone up, there have never been any complaints it has been compliments all the way and all the plates come back clean," added Mrs. Hunter.
Shift manager Elizabeth Hill (eight years in the post) reported that the special offer Bangers and Mash two meals for £6.50 had proved particularly popular. A single serving is priced at £5.25.
